Council previews policy to let city manager sign support letters for budgeted nonprofits

The intent is to speed support when a nonprofit already appears in the municipal budget.
"This gives Cale the opportunity to write a letter of support to these entities without having to go through us for a resolution," the chair said. Council asked staff to circulate the current list of nonprofits funded in the budget before moving the resolution forward; staff said the list exists in last year’s budget and can be distributed.
