Council approves yield line and signage at Rumson & Yorkshire to improve safety
Summary
City council voted 5–0 to adopt an ordinance adding yield striping and signs at the Rumson Road–Yorkshire Drive intersection to clarify right of way and enhance safety (Ordinance No. 2985).
The council adopted Ordinance No. 2985 after the first reading was carried over from July 13. City staff described the change as an action to "provide clearer right of way guidance and enhance safety at this intersection." The motion to approve passed by voice vote, 5–0.
Mayor Andrews noted this was a carried item from the previous meeting and that no roll-call vote was required after a prior first reading. The ordinance will move forward as adopted and staff may proceed with signage and striping as described.
