A coroner's office representative (speaker 8) outlined operational needs including purchasing a van (to be modified for a cot), acquiring two Tahoes for patrol-style tasks and a scissor lift and cot. He said budget lines exist for a van and some equipment and urged the commission to authorize purchases to reduce reliance on external transport.
Separately, commissioners discussed running gas lines and installing meters and generators for the coroner’s office and sheriff facilities. A staff member (speaker 11) said generator lead times could be about 90 days and that the sheriff’s gas run estimate had been reduced from $29,000 to about $15,000 after further review. Commissioners asked staff to prepare formal agenda items and paperwork for Tuesday so purchases and work orders could proceed where budget authorization exists.
