Director Jasmine Glover McNair told the commission that existing contracts with several contract cities run only through June 30, 2027, and that the County Of San Bernardino has constructed a new shelter in Bloomington and is reaching out to contract cities about services. "The contract cities, their, agreement is only through 2027… County Of San Bernardino is also opening up their new shelter. They're they built new shelter in Bloomington, and they have reached out to the contract cities to see if they wanna go over," the director said.
Staff said the timing of partner decisions and county openings complicates long‑range facility planning and recommended waiting to finalize long‑term drawings until contract outcomes are clearer. Commissioners were told staff will engage with contract cities over the next six months to assess whether they intend to continue their agreements after the 2027 expiration date.
