Board appoints Dr. Champ clerk pro tem and opens budget hearings

At the March 4 meeting the board appointed Dr. Champ clerk pro tem by voice vote and began a three‑night line‑by‑line budget review with detailed presentations from the business office, PPS and athletics.
The Board of Education moved and approved a clerk‑pro‑tem appointment and then opened multi‑night budget hearings.
Chair asked for a motion to appoint Dr. Champ as clerk pro tem; the motion was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote. The board then received presentations from the superintendent, the business office, the Pupil Personnel Services office and the athletics director and scheduled follow‑up line‑by‑line sessions on instruction and staffing.
There were no public commenters at the end of the meeting and the board adjourned after new‑business updates on pedestrian improvements near the high school. The administration will return with more detailed contingency and staffing projections during upcoming budget‑work sessions.
