The Robbinsdale board approved the consent agenda — covering appointments and renewals, auditor and legal counsel appointments, workers' compensation renewal for FY25, administrative policy annual reviews, meeting minutes and personnel matters — in a single roll-call vote recorded as 7–0.
During discussion, board members asked about workers' compensation savings. Finance presenter Kristen Ho Heisel explained the district’s broker (USI) performs services including a 24/7 nurse triage hotline and receives a $74,641 commission (injury-management fee). Ho Heisel also said the district received a return premium of $61,587 as part of a two-year retention arrangement with the insurer SFM. Board members sought clarity on the broker relationship, commission amounts and how savings were achieved.
