Rockford school board renews district memberships and assigns 2026–27 committees

During its Jan. 5 organizational meeting the Rockford Public School District Board of Education voted to renew multiple district memberships for the 2026–27 school year and finalized committee assignments.
The board approved renewal of the district's memberships in AMSD; CMERDC; Minnesota Rural Education Association (MREA); Minnesota School Board Association; Resource Training and Solution; and Schools Advocating for Fair Funding. The motion to renew the memberships was made by Eric Gordee, seconded by Chris Morgan, and passed unanimously.
The board also approved committee and external-board assignments for the coming year, including the Finance Committee (Morgan, Hillstrom, Sjodin); Policy Committee (Gordee, Hillstrom, Praska); District Operations (Gordee, Morgan, Johnson); Negotiations (Johnson, Sjodin, Praska); Facilities (Johnson, Morgan); Communications (Gordee, Hillstrom, Sjodin); and representation to the Minnesota State High School League (Sjodin, Hillstrom), among others. The minutes list all committee slots and assigned members.
