ISD 622 adopts calendars, revises policies and schedules meetings

The School Board adopted the proposed school year calendars for 2026–2027 and 2027–2028, citing a statutory reference in the minutes: "pursuant to Minn. Stol. 5645.44, Subd. 5." The motion to adopt the calendars was moved and seconded and carried 6-0.
Directors also approved revisions to board policies numbered 534 (Unpaid Meal Charges), 707 (Transportation of Public School Students), 709 (Student Transportation Safety Policy), 802 (Disposition of Obsolete Equipment and Materials), and 806 (Crisis Management). The minutes record that the board "hereby revises" those policies and approved the revisions by a 6-0 vote.
Chair Yong and board members also set a Dec. 9, 2025 work study session to begin at 6 p.m., a Jan. 13, 2026 special meeting for oath of office and elections, and a Jan. 13 follow-on work session to address topics including an American Indian presentation and budget planning.
