Klimek listed MCA testing dates in April: science for grades 5, 8 and 10 on April 8; reading for grades 3–8 and 10 on April 14–15; and math for grades 3–8 and 11 on April 21–22. He also said juniors and seniors who signed up would take the ACT on March 24. Klimek reported Read Across America (March 2–6) activities including a March Madness book bracket, book BINGO and a popcorn reading day; Book Fair funds purchased 200 books to give away as prizes. He noted the district plans to select a new reading curriculum and schedule summer trainings for staff as well as summer school for K–3 students.
