The Board of Independent School District 308 approved financial reports and a multi-item consent agenda during its March 23 meeting.
Tom Haldeman, the district’s Accounts Payable Clerk, presented the financial materials; the board approved them with a cash balance of $1,748,550.87 and a Payment Register and payment of claims totaling $143,198.82. "The Payment Register and payment of claims were approved in the amount of $143,198.82," the minutes state. A motion by Aimee Plumley, seconded by Dave McGee, carried unanimously.
On a separate motion, the board approved the consent agenda, which included donations totalling $11,926.02 (Widseth, Smith & Noltin $250; Hallerstrom $55; Wolff & Simon Real Estate $800; Common Spirit Health $5,215.02; Arvig Communications $5,606.00), minutes from the Feb. 23 meeting, requested overnight/out-of-state trips (Post Prom May 9–10, Spanish Club to Spain in spring 2027), spring coaching appointments and policy readings. The motion to approve the consent agenda was moved by Andy Lindow and seconded by Ben Hass and "motion carried unanimously," according to the record.
The consent agenda included personnel items such as the appointment of spring coaches and the announced retirement of fourth-grade teacher Michelle Chase, effective May 26, 2026. The board also recorded first and final readings of School Board Policies 612.1, 616, 618, 619, 807 and 902 as updated. The board set no further action on ISD 308 Board Policy 410, tabling that item when the agenda was adopted.
The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for April 27 at 7:00 p.m.
