Superintendent Johnson told the board Jan. 27 that he is working with Principal/Activities Director Mrs. Carr on the schedule for the next school year and that the district currently has one snow day remaining. He said the district may consider adding back a day, either Presidents Day or Easter Monday, though no decision was made at the meeting.
Mrs. Carr described a post-Christmas "Kindness Program" in which students submit acts of kindness; winners receive a t-shirt and are entered into a later drawing for a larger prize. She also reported activity-related scheduling impacts: several games have been rescheduled because of weather, a one-act play was competing after being rescheduled, and some band students were attending the Myra Jazz Clinic.
