Multiple coaching hires were approved by the International Falls School District board at the Feb. 17 meeting. The consent agenda included Hailey Auran (Assistant Girls Swimming and Diving Coach, 2026–27), Kristie LaVigne (paid Junior High Softball Coach, 2025–26), Trent Nicholson (Volunteer Junior High Softball Coach, 2025–26), Marissa Kerry (Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach, 2025–26), and Michael Leahy (Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach, 2025–26). Two additional coach hires were moved from consent and considered separately as action items.
The board approved hiring TJ Coulombe as paid Junior High Softball Coach for the 2025–2026 season (motion by Roxanne Skogstad-Ditsch; second by Tina Sather). The minutes record that the motion carried with Member Toni Korpi opposed. Separately, the board approved John Reller as Volunteer Junior High Boys Basketball Coach (motion by JoAnn Smith; second by Roxanne Skogstad-Ditsch); that motion also carried with Member Korpi recorded as opposed. The minutes do not provide reasons for Korpi's recorded opposition.
