International Falls schools report small enrollment gain, new program developments

Melissa Tate, the district’s secondary principal, told the board the high school’s official enrollment increased by four students to 460 this fall and the Alternative Learning Center has 31 students with a waiting list.
Tate said the Robotics team is returning to competition with coaching from John Brubaker, Native American Heritage Month presentations are scheduled across the district, and staff are working on in-house AA training certificates that may also count for college credit. Those items were presented as part of the administrative reports recorded in the meeting minutes.
Activities Director Timm Ringhofer reported that fall sports have wrapped up and winter sports are beginning, and Elementary Principal Lisa West described schoolwide efforts such as Bronco Pride monthly assemblies and a winter-clothing donation drive. The district’s superintendent was listed as Beth Shermoen (not present), and the minutes note she is awaiting updates on several grant applications.
