Board approves tentative agreements with teachers and pupil support staff; AB 1200 filing authorized

The Board heard from district negotiators and approved tentative agreements for 2024–25 with the Arcadia Teachers Association (ATA) and the Arcadia Pupil Support Services Association (APSA). Superintendent Dr. Hirschfeld described Arcadia's use of interest-based bargaining and thanked the bargaining teams and association leaders for their work.
"This is the culmination of a lot of work," Dr. Hirschfeld said, and staff noted both associations had ratified their portions. The district also completed the AB 1200 disclosure process required by the county to certify financial sufficiency for the agreements; the Board opened the required public hearing, heard no public comment, and adopted the agreements and the AB 1200 filing by unanimous vote (4–0).
Trustees thanked bargaining teams and noted the collaborative process. The actions authorize staff to submit the AB 1200 materials to the county and proceed with implementation steps outlined in the tentative agreements.
