Joe Lobello said the town had budgeted $3,300,000 for a complete rehabilitation project but that the immediate control panel and negotiated work reduced the near-term scope; staff reported received bids ranging from roughly $135,000 to over $400,000. Council approved a motion that: (1) accepts the negotiated proposal in the amount of $134,775 for the Lift Station No. 1 rehabilitation project; (2) waives formal competitive bidding due to limited qualified contractors and demonstrated cost savings; (3) authorizes the town manager to negotiate and execute the agreement subject to legal review; and (4) authorizes the town manager to approve change orders up to a cumulative total of $75,000 related to the project.
