CTO reports near 1:1 devices and expanded safety systems; district pursuing further tech upgrades

"Today, we have all students and staff 1 to 1 devices," he told the board, describing faster internet, next‑generation Wi‑Fi, and expanded camera and access-control systems.
John highlighted security practices already in place, including multifactor authentication for staff and badge‑enabled copiers and door access, and described planned projects funded in part by E‑rate rounds (Wi‑Fi upgrades and infrastructure). He also noted testing of an emergency reunification tool connected to the camera system, and said staff will continue to pilot AI tools for front-office tasks and explore smart building controls to reduce utility costs.
