Board approves contract with San Diego Center for Children and internship agreement with UMass Global

Later, during action item 12.7, Dr. Wilds described an internship agreement with UMass Global to place graduate interns who will complete their placement and student-teaching while supervised by credentialed professionals. "They have to do their student teaching," Dr. Wilds said, and staff noted these placements support recruitment for impacted areas such as special education.
Trustees approved both items by voice vote. Board members asked clarifying questions about how the UMass Global placements would work, including how the credentialing and reciprocity are handled; staff responded that interns receive an intern credential and will complete coursework and placements concurrently.
