Board prequalifies inspection, testing and construction-management firms for Measure HB projects

Trustees approved lists of prequalified construction inspection and material-testing firms and unanimously selected Kitchell, CEM Incorporated as the prequalified construction-management firm for Measure HB; staff will return with a negotiated contract.
Under action items 12.3–12.5, staff presented procurement results for construction-related services connected to Measure HB projects. Ms. Montalvo said the district received multiple statements of qualifications for each category and recommended prequalification lists.
"The district received a total of 7 statements of qualifications," Ms. Montalvo said when introducing the inspection-services recommendations, and she listed the recommended prequalified inspection firms as BPI Inspection Services, Nolan Construction Services, and Pringle Group. The board approved the recommended prequalified inspection and material-testing firms by voice vote.
Dr. Wilds described the construction-management selection process for Measure HB: 11 statements of qualifications were received, four finalists interviewed and the team "unanimously selected Kitchell, CEM Incorporated." The board approved the selection and staff will bring a negotiated contract back to the board for formal approval.
