Superintendent Brett Benson used the June 22 meeting to reflect on his first two years at Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial, thanking staff, students and the community and calling the district move a positive experience for his family. Benson told the board the district will display banners recognizing 45 state team participants and will install permanent championship banners honoring the 1990 Class A boys track & field title, the 2001 adapted bowling title and the 2026 Class AA softball title.
Benson also reviewed ongoing summer facilities work: a rooftop unit repair, remediation of a sinkhole in the elementary parking lot, track runway improvements, building controls upgrades and LED lighting projects. He said those projects are expected to be completed over the summer and indicated the board will receive scheduling and completion updates as work proceeds.
