Board names 2026 leadership, appoints Jay Doss to library board and reappoints several members

In new-business actions, commissioners set leadership and made a slate of appointments for 2026. Commissioner Chris Rickman was selected as chair and Commissioner Craig Oglesby as vice chair for 2026 by voice vote.
The board appointed Jay Doss to the library board to fill a vacancy created by Tim Martin’s term ending 12/31/2025; the Jay Doss term will run 01/01/2026–12/31/2028. The board also reappointed Lynn Cox and William Walsh to three-year library-board terms, reappointed Roger Duncan to the Board of Assessors for another three-year term, and reappointed Dr. David Yates to the Board of Health for a six-year term from 01/01/2026 through 12/31/2031. All motions were approved by voice vote.
Commissioners also approved an annual slate of appointments to outside authorities and advisory boards (airport authority, E-911 advisory board, emergency services, roads and bridges, development and soil-and-water conservation authorities) as part of the meeting’s routine annual business.
