Denise described a series of regional efforts stretching from the 1990s through Amtrak and state studies that consistently included Geneseo on proposed service routings. She told the council the community already controls a parcel under consideration for a station and argued that a local stop would let residents board without driving to Moline, potentially serving commuters, students and event visitors.
