School board approves updates to attendance, safety, curriculum and health policies

Policies updated in the minutes include: 414 (Mandated Reporting of Child Abuse), 418 (Drug-Free Workplace & School), 425 (Staff Development & Mentoring), 501 (School Weapons Policy), 503 (Student Attendance), 514 (Bullying Prohibition), 515 (Protection & Privacy of Pupil Records), 516 (Student Medication & Telehealth), 516.5 (Overdose Medication), 524 (Internet, Technology, Cellphone Acceptable Use and Safety), 602 (Organization of School Calendar & School Day), 606.5 (Library Materials), 613 (Graduation Requirements), 620 (Credit for Learning), 621 (Literacy and READ Act), 624 (Online Instruction), 707 (Transportation of Public School Students), 709 (Student Transportation Safety), 802 (Disposition of Obsolete Equipment & Materials) and 806 (Crisis Management).
The minutes record the motions as "carried"; for many policy updates the minutes do not include roll-call vote tallies. The approvals also included action to adopt policies and procedures regarding municipal securities disclosure and a post-issuance tax compliance policy and written procedures. The board did not attach additional conditions to the policy approvals in the minutes.
