The WATERVILLE-ELYSIAN-MORRISTOWN Board of Education on Oct. 27 approved Phase 2 construction bids for district projects. Superintendent Mark Winter told the board that "the bids came in more than $1 million under budget." The board approved the motion to accept the Phase 2 bids; seven members voted in favor.
Earlier in the meeting the financial report noted a $72,500 payment to Met-Con Construction, Inc. for bathroom grant construction funded by the State of Minnesota. The minutes show the district recorded significant financial activity in the report presented at the meeting, and the Phase 2 approvals were described as coming in well under the previously estimated budget.
The minutes do not provide a line-by-line contract award table or identify all awarded contractors by name beyond the previously noted payment to Met-Con Construction, Inc.; the board approved the bids as part of the action agenda and declared the project coming under budget.
