Superintendent: district enrollment higher than budget projection; staffing near full

Superintendent (Dr. Stallo) told the Robbinsdale Area Schools board that enrollment stood at 10,401 students as of Aug. 19, 2024, above the projection used to set the district budget. "As of today, we have 10,401 students enrolled across the district, which is above our projected enrollment of 10,146," the superintendent said.
Because of increased enrollment—especially in kindergarten and the Robbinsdale Virtual Academy—the district plans to hire two additional kindergarten full-time equivalents and increase the Virtual Academy by 1.5 FTEs. Executive Director Amy O'Hearn later reported the district is 97% staffed for fall with 1,843 employees and that workshop week begins in seven days. The superintendent also asked each school to organize a site team to strengthen communications for the capital projects levy renewal campaign.
