The Independent School District No. 361 Board of Education voted Jan. 20 to accept a $60,000 International Falls Rotary Community Impact Grant to support the districts Early Education Outdoor Center. The motion to accept the grant was moved and seconded during the grants portion of action items and recorded as carried.
Superintendent Beth Shermoen and Community Education/Early Education Director Molly Larson (report delivered by Shermoen) framed the grant as a capital support for outdoor learning infrastructure in the districts early childhood program. The Rotary award appears alongside other recent grant approvals the board accepted that night; the board also discussed preschool enrollment (64) and upcoming preschool registration on Feb. 5. The acceptance of the Rotary grant is recorded in the meeting minutes under Action Item 3.a.
