The Whitman County Board of Commissioners on April 6 voted to award the Public Service Building Health Department Renovation contract to Ginno Construction of Idaho, Inc. for the bid amount of $217,400.00. The motion was moved by Commissioner Chad Whetzel, seconded by Commissioner Tom Handy and carried.
Commissioner Arthur D. Swannack and Commissioner Handy questioned use of the terms "architect" and "owner" in the contract and noted the contractor had not yet signed. Facilities Director Brandy Dean said she "would do an additional review of the contract with Ginno Construction and send for approval to the County attorney and get their signature on the contract." Commissioner Swannack stated that "if the contract was updated and signed before 2:00 p.m. today, the Commissioner would go back into session to vote on the contract." The board approved the award conditional on standard review and execution procedures.
