The Verona Board of Education voted to appoint Diana Ferrara to fill a vacancy on the board created by the resignation of former member Christopher Waka. Dr. Riley read the resolution recommending the appointment and the board approved the motion moved by Miss Konotic and seconded by Mr. Boone; the motion passed by roll call with Miss Konotic, Mrs. Prisco and Mr. Boone recorded as voting yes.
Dr. Riley read the resolution into the record, stating: "Diana Ferrara is hereby appointed to fill the vacancy on the board of education," and noting the appointment is "effective immediately for an unexpired term concluding at the next reorganization meeting in January 2027." The board business official then administered the statutory oath of office. Ferrara recited the oath in public, saying in part, "I, Diana Ferrer, do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of The United States and the Constitution of the state of New Jersey," and affirmed she met the statutory qualifications referenced during the oath. The board welcomed Ferrara and thanked all applicants who participated in the interview process.
