Budget committee approves $10,000 for new code‑enforcement software

The Wolfeboro Budget Committee voted to increase the code‑enforcement outside‑services line by $10,000 to purchase a modern permitting and inspection platform. Staff said the current system is antiquated and the CivicsPlus package will “interface with Avatar” to automate permit workflows and feed tax and permit records.
Staff described the purchase as a productivity upgrade that will allow building‑department work to scale without proportional increases in staff time. "The CivicsPlus will interface with Avatar...as building permits come in, they will automatically go across once they're complete," said the Staff member explaining how the systems will interact. A Committee member who supported the measure called it “a force multiplier” that automates reminders and reduces administrative friction. The motion passed on a roll call 8–1.
