The Wabasso Public School District board met in a work session on Feb. 17, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the school conference room to review the preliminary Fiscal Year 2027 budget. Board Chair Josh Goche called the meeting to order; the minutes record that all school board members were present and that Superintendent Jon Fulton, Principal Matt Captain and visitor Tony Aafedt were also in attendance.
According to the work-session record, “The Board of Education reviewed the preliminary Fiscal Year 2027 Budget and held discussion on some options to improve deficit spending.” Board members examined several line items and discussed possible reductions and reviewed revenue sources, including fees, as levers to reduce a projected deficit; the minutes do not specify dollar amounts. The board set related items to appear on the agenda for the Feb. 23, 2026 regular meeting for formal action. The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.; the minutes are signed by Clerk Tom Carlson and Chair Josh Goche.
