WEM board approves financial report, coach assignments and lane changes; notes $13,000 PSEO payment

The Waterville-Elysian-Morristown board approved the Dec. 5–Dec. 15 financial report on a motion by Jon Bakken, seconded by Jay Schneider. The minutes record bills and payroll of $612,377.97, deposits of $950,931.12 and transfers of $200,000; the report specifically noted a $13,000 payment to Southwest Minnesota State University for PSEO tuition.
As part of the consent agenda, the board approved coach appointments: girls basketball volunteer coaches Bruce Velzke and Addyson Taylor, and moved Dennis Androli to the second assistant boys basketball position at a stipend of $3,420. The board also approved lane changes effective Jan. 15, 2026 for Kelci Halvorson (MS to MS30) and Cameron Jensen (BS10 to MS30). A motion by June Rezac and seconded by Gary Michael accepted a $3,000 donation from Prairie Lakes Art Council to the WEM High School Art Program.
The board’s approvals were recorded as passed with six members voting in favor on each item. Business Manager Margaret Jewison provided the finance report and the motions were handled under the consent agenda procedures.
