Wabasso school board re-elects Josh Goche as chair, assigns 2026 committees

The School Board of Independent School District #0640 unanimously re-elected Josh Goche as chair and elected Travis Welch as vice-chair during its Jan. 26 organizational meeting. The board also elected Tom Carlson as clerk and Kimberly Frank as treasurer for 2026.
Board members set committee rosters for the year, naming members for negotiations, finance, policy, employee/student relations, facilities/transportation and strategic planning. They also named representatives to external organizations, including ECFE/School Readiness, the Minnesota State High School League and the Redwood Collaborative.
The board adjourned the organizational portion at 6:15 p.m. and immediately convened its regular meeting. The decisions were made by voice vote after nominations and passed unanimously.
