The township manager reviewed the draft Capital Improvement Plan for fiscal years 2026–2029 and identified several priority projects that staff are tracking ahead of budget adoption.
Projects highlighted included a placeholder for a membrane roof replacement at Township Hall (staff are awaiting quotes and an initial company review suggested the roof is still in good shape), a potential replacement generator (staff said the unit is aging and quotes are being solicited), and interior upgrades such as LED lighting and revamped staff work areas. The manager also described plans to add a water softener at the Hero Center because of high iron content in local water and proposed replacement drinking fountains at Heritage Park and Settlers Park.
Parks projects included controlled burns and phragmites mitigation and a placeholder for Springer Field facility upgrades and storage. Staff also proposed installing a new monitoring well (estimated at $30,000 in the packet) to continue tracking the local salt plume; one existing well is no longer functioning and needs replacement. Several line items are preliminary placeholders pending quotes and further board discussion before budget adoption.
