Ethnic-studies remains contingent on funding; financial literacy set for 2030–31

Dr. Chamberlain told the committee that ethnic-studies adoption in the updated graduation policy is contingent on state funding. "The ethnic studies program is contingent on funding," she said, adding that although not required now, the course is available through Asellus as an elective for students who want it.
On financial literacy, Dr. Chamberlain said the district will devote the 2029–30 school year to curriculum review with implementation planned for the 2030–31 school year. "Financial literacy will be required for 20 30, 20 31 graduating students," she told the subcommittee. Committee members praised the district for preparing curriculum in advance so students and counselors are ready once the requirement takes effect.
