Council approves consent items and discusses bus service geography for proposed JPA program

The council adopted the consent calendar Aug. 11 with routine items, but pulled item 4(d) for discussion. Council members asked whether a proposed revision to bus service language narrowed service to the Reed Union School District's geographic area. One council member asked, "So my question is is the bus service being restricted also to the... Reed Union School District?" Staff and other council members clarified the revision removes an exclusive reference (so it is no longer described as exclusively for the Reed Union School District) but that the program will continue to focus service in the district area as it expands services to additional school and after‑school program stops. Staff said the project was approved through the Tiburon Peninsula Traffic Relief Agency JPA and will be forwarded to underlying agencies for their approvals.
