The council approved a revocable license Aug. 11 for private improvements in the public right‑of‑way at 30 San Rafael Ave, a condition of an earlier planning commission approval for a new single‑family residence.
Staff described proposed landscape plantings (agave and ice plants), replacement of the entry walkway along San Rafael Avenue and maintaining the existing Lagoon Road driveway. Applicant Andy O'Brodick said the large utility vault in the sidewalk will remain and the new sidewalk will be built around it. The council approved the license by motion with no public opposition recorded.
Councilmembers asked staff to ensure landscaping is installed so plants do not obstruct the sidewalk as they mature.
