Staff said they are in ongoing contact with the Mallard team and coordinating meetings with the city engineer to address outstanding items. "The Mallard team has indicated that if permits are issued as planned, they expect to begin the project in the spring of 2026," staff said. Internally the city is selecting a project manager to oversee day‑to‑day work and has begun the process of retaining a relocation consultant — at the applicant's expense — to ensure eligible tenants receive required relocation benefits. Staff said they will post new submittals and information on the city's website as items are received.
