Council OKs license agreement for Ranger Snowmobile/ATV Club; presenter says trail project costs about $1.3 million

The council approved a license agreement allowing the Ranger Snowmobile/ATV Club to secure an easement needed to build a trail from Stone Lake Road to the 7 Beavers bridge.
A club representative told the council the overall project scope is substantial: "It's a substantial amount of money if this project is, encompassing $1,300,000 which can't go forward without this easement site." He said the trail segment under discussion is about 4.3 miles and that heritage studies and other regulatory steps had been completed; the easement is the final permitting step before the city signs off and the project goes to bid (presenter said bidding could start Aug. 1).
Mayor Scott asked staff if they had reviewed the document; council members confirmed they had read the draft and had no outstanding concerns. Councilor Grams moved to approve signing the agreement; Councilor Bridal seconded. The motion carried on a voice vote.
