Board approves FY25 budget amendments; total amended budget rises by $3.69 million

The Harnett County Board of Education approved a set of FY25 budget amendments that raised the district's total amended budget to $247,683,644.
"Our state public school fund is amended to be $158,085,290, which is an increase of $2,200,000," said Mr. Cox during the presentation. He delineated other adjustments: the federal programs fund increased by $302,000 to $27,806,213; capital outlay rose $125,000 to $2,547,288; and the local restricted expense fund increased $1,076,339 to $13,394,281. "Total amended budget, $247,683,644, which is an increase of $3,693,744," Cox said.
After a motion and second, the board approved the amendment by voice vote. The vote was recorded as a unanimous voice vote in favor as read in the meeting minutes; no member requested roll-call tallies in the transcript.
