Harnett County presents CTE results; officials highlight 98% concentrator graduation rate

Lindsey Hardy, director of Career and Technical Education for Harnett County Schools, and colleague Larry Clark presented department results and recent accomplishments during a special presentation for CTE Month.
"The class of 2024 CT concentrator graduation rate was at 98%," Hardy told the board, and she noted that Harnett County serves nearly 12,000 students in grades 6 through 12 while typically being funded to support grades 8 through 12. Hardy said the district's highest concentrator percentages are in agriculture, trades and health sciences and emphasized alignment between concentrator rates and regional labor projections.
Larry Clark highlighted credential totals and industry connections, saying that as of fall 2024 the class had recorded 5,576 total credentials and many students leave high school with multiple industry-recognized credentials. Clark and Hardy described CTSO growth, expansion of middle-school career awareness, and the upcoming Build Harnett event April 14–16 — which will add a plumbing competition and host 75 students across construction trades.
Board members thanked the presenters and praised CTE staff; no board action was required. The presentation materials were provided to the board electronically.
