Board approves Medicaid billing contract and several facilities contracts in consent agenda

The Harnett County Board of Education approved multiple contracts as part of its Oct. 7 consent agenda, including a PO3 contract with Public Consulting Group LLC (PCG) to provide Medicaid fee-for-service billing through the ECAPS system, district staff said.
"This is our contract where we collect fee for services for Medicaid. We use ECAPS, which is PCG. We've had this contract in place for many years. It's usually around 75 to 90,000," the district presenter said when describing the contract and its typical annual cost. A board member moved to approve the contract and the motion was seconded; recorded votes show the chair and board members voting 'aye' and the motion carrying.
The board also approved a performance-services contract for a child-nutrition freezer/cooler project at the district Maintenance Building and accepted the lowest bids to remove and replace several aging cooling towers after a public solicitation. Presenters said the freezer/cooler contract had previously been routed to internal approvers and the cooling-tower work was bid out with multiple responses.
Each item on the consent agenda was moved, seconded and recorded as carried with 'aye' votes. The board later moved into closed session for personnel matters and, upon return, approved salary adjustments discussed in closed session by recorded vote.
