District expects federal Title funds and reports stable preliminary enrollment

Superintendent Mr. Drill told trustees the federal administration released Title funds the state of Oregon will accept, and the district expects an allocation "about a 150 to a $175,000" to return to the district as Title funding. He said the allocation should have occurred June 30 and was expected to arrive imminently, and that district finance staff (Mr. Dyer) will draw down the funds in accordance with requirements.
On enrollment, the superintendent reported preliminary figures: "I think the last count was 2,731 kids" and current early counts show about 2,729 — a net change of two students. He said final registration for elementary and secondary grades will be completed in the coming weeks and that the district will reassess space and transfer needs after counts stabilize. The board discussed grade-level imbalances, particularly a large incoming fifth-grade cohort.
