New finance director William Wong to present August financial reports after Envision access

William Wong, the district’s finance director, introduced himself to the board and reviewed his background in school business management.
Wong said he moved to the United States two years ago, learned English working in public schools, and previously served as a business manager for a school district in Batesville, Arkansas. He told the board he had recently gained access to the district’s Envision accounting software and expects to present documentation and financial reports to the board in August.
During his remarks, board members clarified that Wong lives in the district and that staff hiring processes are underway in several schools. Wong will also be designated in board action (Resolution 7c) as deputy clerk and custodian of funds with authority to sign checks and approve bills as authorized by the board.
