Drill said the district is in a quieter summer period, allowing staff to assess facilities and HR needs. He reported tentative settlements with teachers and administrative staff that include 2.5% increases for two years and a 2.5% increase in insurance for those years. Classified-staff negotiations are ongoing; Drill said the classified association’s requests included many details and that the district expects additional sessions to reach agreement.
Drill also said the district has hired two administrators and will introduce them to the board; the meeting included introductions and brief remarks from the new human-resources director and finance director. Drill asked board members to complete a pre-audit questionnaire to assist the district's auditors ahead of the formal audit in the fall.
The superintendent described continued work on a district 'vector' program (student supports), noting staff will explore expansion for middle and high school students and possible use of district meeting days or late-start times for program work.
