Brett Stegall, a newly elected member of the Cascade School District Board of Education, was sworn into office at the board's regular meeting.
“I, Brett Stegall, do solemnly swear or affirm that I will support the Constitution of The United States, the Constitution of the State of Oregon and the laws thereof, and the policies of the Cascade School District,” Stegall recited during the oath administered early in the session.
After the oath, the board moved to elect leadership for the 2025–26 term. A board member nominated Stegall for chair; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. A nomination for Ruth Stevens as vice chair was similarly seconded and adopted. The presiding officer announced each motion carried.
The leadership elections were conducted by roll-call motions followed by voice votes, as recorded in the meeting. Board members also approved routine procedural items including the executive-session and regular meeting minutes from June 9, 2025.
The board plans to continue its regular monthly schedule on the second Monday of each month unless otherwise noted in public notices.
