Board clears Cascade band, choir to perform at Disneyland in May

The Cascade School District 5 Board of Education approved an out-of-state travel request for the high-school band and choir to travel to Anaheim, California, from May 16–20 to perform in Disneyland's California Adventure and participate in a recording workshop.
Choir director Wendy Kivett described the trip as a combined educational and performance opportunity: "Both groups will be performing in the park in California Adventure, and both groups will also be doing a recording workshop," she said, adding the trip includes backstage recording experiences and an opportunity to perform on a named stage in the park. Kivett told the board most students are fully paid and that the group will travel with 15 chaperones.
The board moved and seconded the resolution to approve the travel request; members voted aye and the motion carried. The trip was presented with logistical details (airline, hotel, chaperone ratios) and was discussed without objection.
