Student services to pilot Promising Pathways program and launch district scholarship site Oct. 1

Student services staff introduced Promising Pathways, a comprehensive intervention pilot for middle and high school students suspended for substance abuse or harmful social media conduct; the program will be offered to families at no cost and aims to prepare students for a successful return to school. "Promising Pathways is a comprehensive intervention program designed for middle and high school students who have been suspended from school due to substance abuse or inappropriate social media," the presenter said.
The department also announced a universal scholarship website planned to go live on Oct. 1 that will centralize scholarship opportunities and FAFSA information, enabling high schools to feed local opportunities into the central site. Student Services said the district hopes the site will make it easier for families to find financial aid and career information.
