Utility staff reported on ongoing drainage concerns on Mercer and Burn streets that have caused standing water in the roadway and need an engineered connection. "We have an engineer out there several months ago. And the point is to install it on Burn Street and work our way back once again, that part's not gonna go," staff said, and added that an insertion valve or locating an existing valve is necessary before crews can complete work.
Staff said they had obtained a preliminary quote and that locating the correct valve is a near-term constraint; council and staff agreed to pursue a vendor search and bring detailed quotes and a recommended timeline back to a future meeting.
