Board hears boundary proposals; Ben Haven/Boone Trail item tabled, Highland boundary adjusted

Board members discussed capacity at both schools, bus routing, and the prospect of future redistricting; after back-and-forth the board voted to table the Ben Haven/Boone Trail item to the Aug. 19 work session to gather more data.
Separately the board approved a boundary adjustment to align Highland Elementary with the existing Highland Middle School boundary, which officials said would reduce out-of-bound car riders and allow more students to be bus riders under the middle-school alignment. The motions were procedural and focused on operational impacts such as bus routing and projected student counts.
