District IT staff recommended a device refresh to replace aging student Chromebooks and charging carts. The board approved purchase of 2,039 Chromebooks at $215 each (Lenovo on state contract) and approved 88 charging carts, selecting Camcor’s quote at about $204,000.
IT staff said the purchases include device-management software and protective casing to extend device life and to support both on-campus and at-home use. "We're wanting to refresh 2,039 devices and that's for $215 a piece," IT staff said during the presentation. The board approved the purchases by voice vote as part of consent action.
