Mayor Wagner moved to adopt Resolution 202601 and disclosed the local match amount and grant award the city would accept. "I would just like to make a motion to adopt resolution number 202601 approving and committing to a 20% local match amount of $14,981, to the new award of South Carolina Parks and Recreation and Tourism Department grant in the amount of $59,009.24 for the purpose of enhancing and renovating the playground at Freedom Park," the mayor said when making the motion.
Council members asked follow-up questions about project timing and procurement compliance; staff said that once the city demonstrates the local match, the state agency would release funds and the chosen contractor would be able to begin work. The motion was seconded and called for a vote; council approved the resolution during the meeting.
